Mixing Vape Juices: The Basics

When you start mixing vape juice, it opens up a whole new world of opportunity! You can create custom flavour combinations that suit your personal taste for a more refined and fun vaping experience.

However, it’s a good idea to follow a few basic guidelines when mixing vape juice flavours – this will help to ensure you don’t mess up and waste perfectly good e-liquid!

Read on through our e-juice mixing guide to find out how you can perfect your vape mixing experience…

How to mix your own vape juice

First and foremost, when mixing e-juice, you’ll want to use blends that have a similar viscosity. So, you should mix e-liquids with a 50/50 VG/PG ratio with other 50/50 e-liquids. The same rule applies to other e-liquids that have a ratio of 70/30 or 80/20.

When mixing e-juice flavours, you should also aim to use similar flavour profiles, or flavours that will complement each other well. This sounds obvious, but it can be more difficult than you think. We will discuss some of the best e-liquid flavour combinations later on in this article.

Lastly, you should be aware of the ratios you are using. You may want to split two flavours in a 1:1 ratio (half and half), or you may want to do an uneven split. For example, if you’re mixing a strong flavour like aniseed with a more subtle flavour like melon, you’ll probably want to use much less of the aniseed e-juice than the melon e-juice

Mixing e-Juice flavours: Determining the ratio

Following on from what we said above, it’s not always a good idea to do an even 50/50 split of your e-juice flavours. In order to do this in the best way, you may want to set up a kit to mix your own vape juice.

You’ll need a couple of basic vape juice mixing supplies – empty e-liquid bottles and a couple of measuring syringes would be a good place to start.

Now, onto mixing! Measure out 0.5ml of one flavour in one syringe and add it to your empty bottle. Then, measure out your second flavour in the second syringe. Use your judgement here to determine your starting measurements – do you want 0.5ml of each flavour? Or 0.5ml of the more intense flavour, and 1ml of the less intense flavour, for example?

Once you’ve created this starting mixture, add it to your vape tank and have a taste. You can now begin adjusting your mixture by adding more of each flavour where you think it’s needed (we recommend doing this in 0.1ml increments).

The best e-juice flavours to mix

You should be able to use your common sense and your own experience of flavours - both in e-liquids and in the real world - to determine which e-juice flavours will mix together well.

Plus, you’ll be able to find lots of inspiration online for different flavour combos to try out.

Lots of it comes down to personal taste. What foods do you enjoy? Are there any particular flavours you love and would like to adjust slightly? For example, you may want to add a menthol touch to your favourite fruity e-liquid
